Dog Daycare Pickup on Long Island: How Fetching Fido Works

Between work, school drop-offs, and everything else on the calendar, driving your dog to and from daycare is usually the first thing to slip. Your dog still needs exercise and social time, and you still want a settled, tired dog by the time you get home. Fetching Fido®, Fido Fitness Club’s door-to-door dog pickup and delivery service for the Five Towns, was designed for exactly this problem: a specially equipped vehicle collects your dog at home, brings them to our Woodmere facility for a full day of supervised play, and returns them when the day is done.

What Door-to-Door Dog Pickup Actually Means

Fetching Fido® is our dog pickup and delivery service for families who want the benefits of daycare without adding another trip to the day. Instead of you driving, our specially equipped vehicle comes to your home, transports your dog to Fido Fitness Club®, and safely returns them home when their visit is finished.

It also covers the small things that make an evening easier. If you will not be home until later, our team can help with extras like feeding your dog dinner or turning on the lights so your dog is comfortable right up until you walk in. The service runs Monday through Friday, and you can book one-way transportation or a round trip depending on your week. Transportation can also be bundled with a daycare package, which makes it one of our most popular dog services.

How the Day Works, Step by Step

1. Schedule the Visit

Everything starts with a conversation. Contact Fido Fitness Club® to arrange your dog’s daycare visit and transportation — we confirm your address, service area, pickup details, and availability before anything is scheduled.

2. We Pick Up Your Dog

Our Fetching Fido® vehicle comes to your home and transports your dog to our facility. No leash wrangling in the driveway, no detour on the way to work.

3. Your Dog Enjoys a Full Day of Play

Once your dog arrives, the day follows our standard daycare rhythm inside a climate-controlled space: supervised off-leash play with dogs grouped by size, temperament, and play style, plus room to run and enrichment from our agility equipment and dog treadmill. Between play sessions there are rest breaks, plenty of fresh water, and comfortable beds for naps — and we are happy to feed any food or snacks you send along. Experienced staff supervise every play session to keep interactions safe, positive, and relaxed.

4. We Bring Them Home

At the end of the day, your dog rides home happy, exercised, and ready to relax — which is exactly how a good daycare day should end.

Who the Pickup Service Helps Most

Almost any busy household can use a hand, but door-to-door daycare tends to matter most for people working long or unpredictable hours, commuters who leave home early, older adults or anyone with limited transportation, families managing school and activity schedules, and dog owners recovering from an illness or injury. Anyone who wants a simpler daycare routine fits too. One-way trips or round trips can match the schedule you actually have.

Why the Routine Matters to Your Dog

Dogs settle into predictable rhythms quickly, and a regular midweek daycare visit gives them something to look forward to. The routine pairs physical exercise with mental stimulation and positive social experiences, which can ease boredom-driven behavior at home and help young or energetic dogs burn energy in a healthy way. Rest is built into the day as deliberately as play — the goal is a balanced day of activity, interaction, and relaxation, not a dog that comes home over-tired.
